Sinoennea charasensis Tomlin, 1941
Tomlin (1941) original descriptions on Sinoennea chatasensis – “A small barrel-shaped shell of about the same size as butleri Peile but considerably broadened in the middle and narrowed above and below. It has a smooth protoconch of two whorls, and seven whorls in all, of which the five have fairly close broadish axial riblets, about thirty-five on the antepenultimate whorl; suture shallow; umbilicus large and deep; aperture quadrate with a strong parietal tooth, a conspicuous central labial tooth on the columella side, a rather more acute on apposite on the outer labrum and a smaller deep-seated tubercle behind the last-mentioned tooth.”
Benthem-Jutting (1961) descriptions on Sinoennea charasensis – “Shell high-ovoid, tapering to the top, broader at the base. Glassy hyaline, somewhat transparent. Ornamented with transverse ribs, 30-32 on the last whorl. Whorls 6-7, the first two smooth, the subsequent ones ribbed with strong, regular, rather distantly placed, vertical ribs, now and then interrupted by a stronger, obliquely placed rib, marking an old rest stage. Whorls rounded, suture well impressed. Last whorl narrower than the penultimate one, a little pinched round the rather wide umbilicus. Top pointed. Aperture small, almost vertical, interior more or less trefoil-shaped. Peristome continuous, broad, thickened, adnate or just free from the penultimate whorl, reflected, with a strong sinus, flanked by a strong lamella at the upper sie. This lamella continues interiorly as an undulating plate for nearly 1 mm. length On the columellar side only one tooth which corresponds with a groove on the exterior of the last whorl in the umbilical area. The palatal margin bears two teeth, an upper, strong one at the edge of the peristome, and a lower, weaker one somehat deeper down. The upper one corresponds with a small pit on the exterior of the last whorl.”
Sinoennea chatasensis – “Long. 3.25 mm; diam max. 1.75 mm.” (Tomlin, 1941); Sinoennea charasensis – “Dimensions: Height 2.8-3.2 mm; Width 1.6-1.7 mm; Height of aperture 0.8-1.1 mm.” (Benthem-Jutting, 1961)
Type locality – “Bukit Chatas, Sungei Lembing, Pahang” (Tomlin, 1941)
