Cyclotus solutus solutus (Stoliczka, 1872)
“Young shells of this species are regularly planorbular, with a simple, continuous, thin lip of the aperture, and the olivaceous epidermis is rather coarsely rugose, forming darker transverse bands; under the lens also a very fine spiral striation is to be observed. In the middle stage, when the shells possess 3.5 to 4 whorls, and a diameter of 10 to 13 mm, the margin of the aperture has a short, open, sutural canal, exactly as in the South Indian Pteroc. (Myxostoma) tristis, Blf., and which canal is the origin of the sutural tube, becoming fully developed in the more adult shell, as soon as the end of the last whorl begins to detach itself from the previous one” (Stoliczka, 1872)
“Dem Typus von Pinang und Perak sehr ähnlich, aber nur ganz kurz gelöst. Sykes (1. c. p. 61) führt ihn als Opisthoporus tener Mke. an.” (Möllendorff, 1902)
Stoliczka (1872) original descriptions on Opisthophorus solutus – “O. testa planorbulari, apice paulo exserta, late umbilicata, corneo solidula; anfractibus 4.5, fere teretibus, supra et infra paululum depressiusculis, sutura profunda ac simplici junctis, in spec. junioribus ad peripheriam sub-angulatis; ultimo ad terminationem dissolute, Paulo expansiusculo modiceque deflexo, tubule suturali antice directo, circiter 2 mm a margine aperturali distante, instructo; anfractibus superioribus epidermide fusco-olivacea, transversim rugata, in ultimo fere simpliciter confertimque striolata, indutis, omnibus sub epidermidem albidis, sparse scrobiculatis, transverse minutissime striatis; apice albido; umbilico magno, anfractuum omnium maximum partem exhibente; aperture lata, circulari, peristomate duplici, interno tenui, paulum projiciente, externo undique modice dilatato, in facie antica concaviusculo et concentric striato, in regione supra-suturali sensim producto; ambobus ad suturam anguste emarginatis. Operculum normale, in utroque latere vix concavum, multispiratum, medio corneo-solidum.”
Morgan (1885) original descriptions on Cyclotus dautzenbergi – “Cyclotus testa, complanata, translucida caerulea ad aperturam albida, perarapliter patontissimeque umbilicata, anfractibus 4-5 composita, optime convoluta, lineis oetotis ornata; cono spirali ad plamim reducto, ante ultimo anfractu ab aliis separato, aperture obliqua, subcirculari, peristomate recto; operculo corneo, circulari.”
Kobelt (1902) descriptions on Cyclotus (Siphonocyclus) solutus – “Schale weit genabelt, scheibenförmig, ziemlich festwandig, fein gestreift, etwas grubig, hornbraun, Periostracum auf den oberen Windungen olivenbraun, gerunzelt, auf der letzten einfach gestreift; Apex weisslich; 4½ fast stielrunde Windungen, letzte vorn abgelöst, massig herabgebogen; Nahtröhre gerade, 2 mm vom Mundrande entfernt; Mündung weit, kreisrund; Mundrand oben ausgeschnitten, doppelt: innerer dünn, wenig vorspringend, äusserer ringsum massig ausgebreitet, vorn konkav, konzentrisch gestreift, oben vorgezogen.
(Morgan, 1885)
“The animal is entirely of a rather pale grey colour, nearly smooth, slightly mottled with darker; tentacles blackish, with a few darker spots about and between their bases, entirely black at tip; rostrum cleft, wrinkled, with a pale lip; lateral pedal row rather indistinct, as also in the preceding species” (Stoliczka, 1872)
