Diplommatina crosseana crosseana Godwin-Austen & Nevill, 1879
“Very small, only 1 1/3 mill. in length, dextrorse, antepenultimate whorl the largest. I believe it to belong to the section Diancta, Mart.” (Möllendorff, 1886)
“This tiny species resembles crosseana Nevill & G.-Austen, but differs in the shape of the aperture; in crosseana this is angular at the base and the columellar margin is perfectly straight.” (Tomlin, 1938)
Godwin-Austen & Nevill (1879) original descriptions on Diplommatina crosseana – “Shell dextral, elongately fusiform, sculpture widely and regularly costulate, colour pale sienna-brown; spire gradually decreasing, suture moderately impressed. Whorls 7; antepenultimate the largest and most swollen; penultimate short, from the last rising rapidly on it; constriction behind the aperture. Aperture rectangular, subvertical; the columellar margin perpendicular, with usual tooth. Peristome double, slightly sinuate on the outer margin, viewed from side.”
Tomlin (1938) original descriptions on Diplommatina (Sinica) siputana – “Shell minute, dextral, obtusely conical, whitish yellow, minutely rimate; number of whorls 6½; penultimate whorl broader and more dilated than any of the rest; protoconch of 1½ whorls smooth, all the other whorls sculptured with fine, rather distant, axial protractive costulations; the peristome is double with a strong columellar tooth, aperture almost vertical, peristome complete, and subcircular without angulations at base, columella arched.”
Kobelt (1902) descriptions on Diplommatina (Diplommatina) crosseana – “Schale rechtsgewunden, lang spindelförmig, mit regelmässigen, weitläufigen Rippen, blass bräunlich; Gewinde allmählich verschmälert; Naht massig eingedrückt; 7 Windungen, drittletzte grösser, vorletzte niedrig, letzte ansteigend, hinter der Mündung eingeschnürt; Mündung rechteckig, ziemlich senkrecht; Mundrand doppelt, äusserer von der Seite gesehen leicht ausgebuchtet; Spindelrand senkrecht, gezahnt.”
