Diplommatina nevilli (Crosse, 1879)
“I do not know why the author classes it as a Palaina; it appears to me to be a typical Diplommatina with well-developed columellar lamella. The truncation of the columella and the canal-like angle at its base are similar to those of the last-named species, though not quite so distinct. It is only 3 mill. long.” (Möllendorff, 1886)
Diplommatina mirabilis “A deformed or possibly an immature specimens of nevilli. The type in the Indian Museum, is unique. It is from Gunong Pondok.” (Laidlaw, 1949)
Crosse (1879) original descriptions on Palaina nevilli – “T. dextrorsa, imperforata, pyramidato-turrita, solidula, costulis gracilibus, aequalibus, subdistantibus munita, sordide albido-lutescens; spira sat elongata, apice rotundato, obtusulo; sutura impressa; anfractus 7 convexi, embryonales primi 1½ laevigati, antepenultimus et penultimus subinflati, ultimus ascendens, siibcompressus; aperture irregulariter rotundata, intus concolor; peristoma subcontinuum, planum, reflexum, subduplex, marginibus callo sat valido junctis, columellari recto, basi inciso, subtruncatulo, basali et externo rotundatis.”
Godwin-Austen & Nevill (1879) original descriptions on Diplommatina (Sinica) mirabilis – “Shell dextral, solid, elongately pyramidal; colour pale umberbrown; sculpture regular ribbing in high relief: this costulation on the basal side is not continuous up to the columellar margin, but the epidermal layer terminates on a denned line level with the upper angle of the aperture and encloses thus a lunular smooth area very characteristic of this species. Spire rapidly decreasing, sides flat, apex pointed, suture well impressed. Whorls 7, the penultimate the largest, sides convex. Aperture subvertical, straight on the outer margin, broadly ovate; columellar margin straight, the tooth of flattened form. Peristome continuous, closely double.”
Kobelt (1902) descriptions on Diplommatina (Sinica) nevilli – “Schale rechtsgewunden, ungenabelt, getürmt kegelförmig, ziemlich festwandig, mit weitläufigen, schmalen, gleichen Kippen, schmutzig weissgelb; Gewinde ziemlich hoch, Apex abgerundet, ziemlich stumpf; Naht eingedrückt; 7 gewölbte Windungen, die 1½ obersten glatt, drittletzte und vorletzte leicht aufgeblasen, letzte ansteigend, ziemlich zusammengedrückt; Mündung unregelmässig abgerundet, innen gleichfarbig; Mundrand fast zusammenhängend, flach, zurückgeschlagen, fast doppelt, durch einen ziemlich starken Callus verbunden, Basal- und Aussenrand gerundet; Spindelrand gerade, am unteren Ende eingeschnitten, leicht abgestutzt.”
