Ptychopatula orcella (Stoliczka, 1873)
“The animal is grey with dusky pedicles, but no perceptible trace of tentacles. The species differs from P. lignicola by a shorter and broader form, more convex whorls, and by a very slightly expanded and thin outer lip. In fresh specimens some of the transverse striae of the cuticle are rather stronger than others. But they very soon wear off.” (Stoliczka, 1873)
“The Samui examples differ from the Penang type merely in their somewhat darker colour and slightly more elevated spire.” (Möllendorff, 1897)
Stoliczka (1873) original descriptions on Pupa (Pupisoma) orcella – “P. testa subglobose conoidea, apice obtusa, angustissime perforata, tenui, cornea; anfractibus 3.5, valde convexis, sutura simplici junctis, transverse filose striolatis; apertura subrotundata, paululum obliqua, edentula; margine externo tenuissimo vix repandiusculo, columellari albescente, vix torto, supra reflexo, umbilicum fere omnino obtegente.”
Pupa (Pupisoma) orcella – “Alt. testae 1.7, diam. 1.25, alt. aperture 0.6 mm.” (Stoliczka, 1873)
Type locality – “Penang” (Stoliczka, 1873)
Other localities – “Samui islands, Gulf of Siam” (Möllendorff, 1897)
“sub corticem Cocos nuciferae.” (Stoliczka, 1873)
