Alycaeus balingensis Tomlin, 1948
“This species somewhat resembles A. kapayanensis Morgan, but is a broader shell, and has the riblets not quite so close together; the distal part of the body-whorl is longer and the strong ribs in the middle of this part are characteristic; in kapayanensis the distal portion has only fine riblets throughout.” (Tomlin, 1948)
Tomlin (1948) original descriptions on Alycaeus balingensis – “Shell small, rotund, with five whorls; body whorl whitish, the others reddish yellow, the protoconch of two whorls being smooth and shining; the whorls are ornamented with fine, regular, regularly spaced, slightly protractive riblets; distal portion of last whorl with a few fine riblets at either extremity, and in the centre four strong raised ribs which are rather far apart from one another; aperture circular; peristome white with a prominent, flanged margin.”
